Cultural Mentor program accepting applications

February 21, 2013

The Office of International Programs is accepting applications for its Volunteer Cultural Mentor program.

The Cultural Mentor program is one of the few mentoring programs on campus that has assumed the mission of providing new international students at CSU with a support system composed by Cultural Mentors. Cultural Mentors are CSU students that assist international students in the process of transitioning into the American culture as they become part of the Fort Collins and campus communities.

Peer advisors

The function of Cultural Mentors is to act as peer advisors to international students in order to help them transition and adjust to life here. In addition, the Cultural Mentors assume the role as a resource to these students and model positive behavior appropriate to the university and civil regulations. Cultural Mentors chosen to lead this program serve as a cultural liaison to the international student population. They are responsible for helping international students acclimate to the life and culture of within the community. All students (international or American) are welcome to apply!

All applications are due to Delma Ramos by Friday, March 8.
