First Friday Museum After Hours Series

Colorado's state dance is Square Dancing! Clap along as the Square Dusters Square Dancing club performs and then join along to learn some moves yourself!

Perseid Meteor Shower
Wednesday, Aug. 12, 7-9 p.m.
Soapstone Prairie Natural Area

Enjoy the height of the Perseid meteor shower in the beautiful open spaces of Soapstone prairie. Times listed are approximate. You will be given the exact times when you register. Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest kicks off with a concert in Old Town Square on Friday, Aug.14. Academy Award and two-time Grammy® Award winner Melissa Etheridge will headline the Mountain Avenue main stage at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night, Aug. 15.

Approximately 135 years ago, Fort Collins was established along the banks of the Cache la Poudre River and on Aug. 14, 15, and 16 the community will celebrate this birthday with Northern Colorado’s largest festival, Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest. The full festival opens Saturday morning and is completely located in the historic part of Downtown Fort Collins. This free weekend showcases over 300 arts, crafts and food booths, Kids' World, a carnival for those young at heart, two beer gardens, and seven stages of continuous entertainment highlighting Northern Colorado's wonderfully talented artists. The festival is also proud to host Bohemian Nights' music lineup providing Colorado music all weekend long.

Northern Colorado Greek Festival
Friday, Aug. 21, 5-11 p.m.
Old Town Square

Come to the 4th Annual Northern Colorado Greek Festival with authentic Greek food, pastries, music and dancing.

Music: D.J. Andreas Konstandinou will play a variety of Greek music for dancing on Friday evening and all day Saturday.
Dance: Free Greek dancing lessons will be offered throughout both days.

Cultural Booths: Books, maps, travel information, handicrafts, etc. on display.
Merchandise: Wide variety of Greek items for purchase, including: jewelry, hats, t-shirts, CDs, cookbooks, flags, etc.
Children’s Area: Greek mythology, costumes, games, crafts, face-painting and of course, lots of Greek food, drink and desserts!

Tour de Farms
Saturday, Aug. 22, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Fort Collins

Riders will be able to join on a leisurely 20-mile tour to various farms. Visit cutting edge urban agriculture projects, hear presentations from farmers, gain useful tools and knowledge for your own garden, find out ways you can support area efforts to strengthen our local food system and eat delicious local food with delightful local people. Nature of the Poudre River Tours
Saturday, Aug. 22, 9-11 a.m.
Along the Poudre River

Discover the beautiful Cache la Poudre River as it flows near downtown Fort Collins on a 2-hour walking tour loop on paved and soft surface trails. Meet at Lee Martinez Park , in the lower parking lot near the tennis courts. Tours are family friendly. This event is free and no registration is required.
