Green vs. Gold Game set for Saturday at Hughes

CSU fans can get a taste of what's coming in the 2012 season when the Rams play the annual Green vs. Gold Game at Hughes Stadium.

Free pancakes, fun

The game-type scrimmage is free and open to the public and includes a free pancake breakfast, served by the CSU Spirit Committee, starting at 11 a.m. for the first 1,000 fans. In addition, Ram Town, which features inflatable attractions for kids, opens at 11 a.m. Parking lots open at 10 a.m.

McElwain, the former offensive coordinator at Alabama, has had 14 practices leading up to Saturday’s scrimmage to install his offensive and defensive schemes. This will be fans’ final chance to see the Rams in action before they open fall practice in August.

Concession stands open

Concession stands, offering food and non-alcoholic beverages, will be open on the west side of the stadium. CSU representatives will be on hand to help fans interested in selecting seats for next season via season ticket packages.

Following the scrimmage, fans will be allowed on the field to meet players and get autographs.

The Rams open the season Sunday, Sept. 2 against Colorado at Denver’s Sports Authority Field.
