Parlez-vous francais?

January 29, 2009

Vous serait-il agreable de passer une soiree a parler francais, tout en buvant une tasse de cafe en ville a Fort Collins? Translation: "How fun would it be to spend an evening talking French over a latte in a downtown Fort Collins coffeeshop?

French conversation

Do you have a dream of visiting Paris one day and sitting in an outdoor cafe, surrounded by muted conversations in perhaps the world's most romantic language?

Wouldn't it be fun to order off the menu in French--to dabble in making conversation yourself?

If you feel you're not quite ready, you might consider practicing your French in a low-key environment with others who are learning.

Thanks to the Colorado State Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, you can take advantage of French Conversation night on Thursday evenings at 5 p.m. in a downtown Fort Collins coffee shop.

French Conversation night gives you the chance to de converser (make small talk) in French in the spacious, brick-walled ambiance of Everyday Joe's coffee shop at 144 S. Mason Street.

The French conversation group is an awesome way to:

  • immerse yourself in conversational French
  • hone your language skills in preparation for travel
  • curl up on a sofa and spend a relaxing evening enjoying your favorite cafe beverage
  • make friends and have some laughs among French speakers of all levels of fluency

French atmosphere included

The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures says, "Join us for an hour of good conversation and French atmosphere! This is a good time to practice your oral skills and meet new people."
