The Creative Writing Reading Series features special guests and faculty reading from a variety of styles and genres including fiction, poetry, and essays. The events are free and open to the public.

Prolific and award-winning writer

On Thursday, February 28, award-winning nonfiction writer and CSU Professor of English John Calderazzo will read from his recent work.

Calderazzo's many honors include a 2012 Solas Gold Medal in Travel-Adventure Writing, a Colorado Council on the Arts Grant, and a CSU Best Teacher Award.

He is the author of Writing From Scratch: Freelancing; 101 Questions About Volcanoes; and Rising Fire: Volcanoes and Our Inner Lives.

Nonfiction widely published

The personal essay, natural history, Asia, Buddhism, travel, and the interrelationships of science and culture are some of genres and themes of Calderazzo's writing.

His work has been cited in Best American Stories and Best American Essays and has appeared in Coastal Living, Georgia Review, Audubon, Orion, Witness, L.A. Review and many other magazines and anthologies.
