Kathay Rennels and Extension play major role in governor's Colorado Blueprint

August 11, 2011

With the assistance of Kathay Rennels, director of Economic Development for the Office of Engagement at CSU, Gov. John Hickenlooper has released the Colorado Blueprint, a report on economic development issues throughout the state of Colorado.

This spring, the governor selected CSU to help with a series of statewide meetings because of the university’s deep connection to communities through Extension offices. CSU Extension staffers took notes at the meetings, which included elected officials, economic development leaders and other community members from each county.

Priorities have been identified in the report, which was released by the Governor’s office in July, Rennels said. Read the full report, called the Colorado Blueprint.

Other than the recession, counties listed connectedness as their top issue - the ability to reach beyond borders through Internet connections, Rennels said.
