Homecoming & Family Weekend: Saturday events

October 7, 2013

Colorado State University shows what it means to be a stalwart Ram with this year's Homecoming and Family Weekend, a tradition that invites students, employees, alumni and community members of all ages to join in on the fun.

The annual Homecoming 5K Race kicks off Saturday’s events beginning at 8 a.m. at the CSU Oval. Participants of all ages are encouraged to join. Proceeds from the race will benefit the Heart Disease Prevention Program of the Human Performance Clinical/Research Lab. Registration is $20 if registered by Oct. 4, $25 by Oct. 11 and $30 if registering the day of the event. Register for the event.

This year, campus and community members are invited to an open house at the newly renovated Durrell Center, a student programming building that includes a dining center that showcases a new modern style, a gelato bar and Ram waffles! Light refreshments and donut holes will be served for free on the main level and tours of the building will be offered. Parents visiting students with meal plans eat for free in the residence halls, and community guests also can purchase a ticket at the door for $6 for a hearty all-you-care-to-eat Homecoming breakfast.

The Homecoming and Family Weekend Tailgate will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. preceding the CSU v. San Jose State game, which kicks off at 1:30 p.m. Tickets for the tailgate are $20 for Alumni Association and Ram Club members and $25 for non-members. Registration is required. For more information, contact the Alumni Association at (800) 286-2586.

The Homecoming Football Game - CSU vs. San Jose State - will kickoff at 1:30 p.m. at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium. Purchase tickets.

CSU Ram volleyball will take on Boise State at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Moby Arena. Purchase tickets.
