Pre-Vet Club general meeting

The next Pre-Veterinary Club general meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in Yates 104. The topic will be the ethical treatment of large animals with Dr. Craig Rowles.

Dr. Rowles is a partner and general manager of Elite Pork Partnership, LLP. Elite Port Partnership is an 8,000 sow farrow to finish swine operation. It produces 140,000 hogs annually! He has been with the operation since 1996.

Prior to that, Dr. Rowles practiced large animal veterinary medicine for 14 years. In 1994, he became a member of the National Pork Producers Council, which focuses on legislative and public policy issues for the pork industry. He has been a member of the Iowa Pork Producers Association since 1994, and currently serves on its Swine Research Committee.
