Fun in the summer: Downtown!

Fort Collins has bragging rights when it comes to the kind of entertainment it hosts in its downtown district. This summer there is a Thursday night concert series in Old Town Square, brewer's festival, a series of gallery walks, and of course, the hugely popular NewWestFest.

Old Town: Where to be

The start of the summer entertainment season is here. Walk in, bike in, take the MAX, or share a ride to Old Town, located only a few minutes from campus.

There are a number of events taking place in downtown Fort Collins this summer.

Downtown Foodie Walk

Downtown Fort Collins offers a culinary adventure in a beautiful, historic, pedestrian area of the city.

The Fort Collins Foodie Walk is a self-guided walk that occurs the third Friday of each month and will feature new presentations, tasting opportunities, and themes each month. 

Noontime Notes Concert Series

The 2014 Noontime Notes Concert Series begins June 3 and continues through August 5. These free concerts are held 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on the beautiful Oak Street Plaza. Bring a picnic or eat out in historic downtown, then enjoy live, intimate music at the Noontime Notes Concert Series.  

Music styles include Latin, folk, bluegrass and jazz, featuring local Fort Collins trios and quartets.

Ben and Jerry's FAC Concert Series

Ben and Jerry's FAC Concert Series opens May 16 and continues through July 4, 7-9 p.m. nightly on the Old Town Square stage.

This free music series sponsored by Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Scoop Shoppe allows local musicians to come show off their talents. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy it all summer long.

  • May 23 - Deja Blues Band/ blues and classic rock you can dance to
  • May 30 - Leelah/ world beat rock-original songs about love and healing

Bohemian Nights Thursday Night Live Concert Series

Bohemian Nights presents the Thursday Night Live Concert Series, 7-9 p.m., beginning June 5 and continuing through August 7 in Old Town Square. Bring your chairs and enjoy Fort Collins' great local music. 

Downtown Summer Sessions

The new Friday night Downtown Summer Sessions music concert series, beginning July 11 and ending August 8, 7-10 p.m., Old Town Square, will feature Fort Collins and Colorado craft brews.

A diverse lineup of talented musicians will play each week, two groups each evening. 

First Friday Gallery Walks

First Friday Gallery Walks, free, self-guided gallery tours, are held year-round the first Friday of every month from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Fort Collins. Galleries remain open in the evening. Refreshments are served.  

Experience paintings, sculptures, exhibits, photos, and more, with many of the gallery owners on hand to share their expertise.

Colorado Brewers Festival

All Brewers' Eve is Friday, June 27, 7-10 p.m. at the Civic Center Park, 222 Laporte Ave. 

All Brewers' Eve presented by Whole Foods and Wilbur's Total Beverage is your chance to taste premium, rare and pilot beers in a relaxed outdoor environment.

This is a great chance to try Colorado beers you may have never even heard of. 

The 25th annual Colorado Brewers' Festival is Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, in downtown Fort Collins.

Come see what's brewing this June and as more than 50 Colorado breweries and beer lovers nationwide arrive to Downtown Fort Collins for the 25th Annual Colorado Brewers’ Festival.

Join us and enjoy Colorado's best beers, fabulous food, and stellar Colorado music.

Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest

The 2014 Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest is scheduled for Friday, August 15, Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, 5-10 p.m., downtown Fort Collins.

Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest is Northern Colorado’s largest free community and music festival. Check here for details as they are finalized.  

French Nest Open-Air Market

The French Nest Open-Air Market, July 19, Aug. 16, Sept. 20, and Oct. 19, (third Saturdays of the month) 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Civic Center Park in Fort Collins, features vintage, antique, artisan, hand-made, hand-collected goods direct from the artisan or collector. 

Nelsen's Old Town Car Show

At Nelsen's Old Town Car Show, Sept. 6, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., in downtown Fort Collins, see hundreds of great hot-rods, vintage cars and classic trucks on display.  

The variety of cars & trucks will include custom cars, street rods, fat fender street rods, muscle cars, classic motorcycles, classic cars and classic trucks.

Live music will fill Old Town Square as people enjoy the show and dine on surrounding restaurant patios.
