Hey fellow Rammies!

On behalf of Peace Corps Volunteers serving in 68 countries worldwide, I’d like to say happy holidays to you and your families, and best wishes for a prosperous 2010.

This past fall saw an additional 18 CSU students nominated for Peace Corps service, adding to the 45 from last year- this shows how many amazing applicants there are at CSU. I would like to encourage anyone interested in Peace Corps to visit the webpage www.peacecorps.gov for more information on the organization.

More immediately, I would encourage all seniors and juniors who are thinking about Peace Corps to apply NOW in order to help reserve your spot in the Peace Corps. Applicants typically depart ~9-12 months after applying, so plan ahead!

Right now, Peace Corps is searching extra hard for the following candidates:

  • Health/Exercise Science, Nutrition or Dietetics majors with 1 year college French or 2 years college Spanish
  • All Agriculture, Animal Science, Crops and Soil Science and BSPM majors, or anyone who grew up on a farm; especially with 4 years high school French or 2 years college Spanish
  • All students interested in teaching English with at least 3 months of practical ESL or English tutoring volunteer experience
  • All Natural Resource majors with at least 2 years college Spanish

Please feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions, I would love to talk with you. If you would like to schedule an appointment to come and talk, check out my office hours and other Peace Corps events at http://wsprod.colostate.edu/cwis30/2007/international_ed/index.asp?url=peace_corps

Have a safe and wonderful break! See you at the Career Fair, Study Abroad Fair or one of the many Peace Corps events on campus next semester!
