Come run the 20th Cinco-Cinco 5K!

April 19, 2013

Runners and walkers from across the campus and the surrounding community are invited to celebrate the 20th Cinco-Cinco 5K, set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 4, on the historic CSU Oval.

The race is one of the oldest and most popular in the area. The race begins and ends on the Oval, with the course winding throughout the CSU campus.

The Cinco-Cinco 5K was founded in 1993 by friends and co-workers of Gil Gutierrez, the former CSU ombudsman who was killed by a drunk driver while running in August of 1992. The race has raised more than $50,000 over the years, helping fund scholarships for more than 75 deserving CSU students.

Registration, which includes one of the event’s signature T-shirts, is $25, $22 for students and teams of three or more. CSU students living on campus and runners age 65-over can register for $19. All rates are $5 higher race day.

Registration options

Register at the CSU Student Recreation Center service desk; Altitude Running, 150 E. Harmony Road; or Runner's Roost, 2720 Council Tree Ave., #112.

You can also register online by May 2 at active.com. Race-day registration begins at 7 a.m. A free kids fun run follows the race.
