Open Enrollment Nov. 10 - 30

The Open Enrollment period for CY 2010 is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Nov. 10 and close on Monday, Nov. 30. This year, the process will be paperless - any changes must be processed through a new Online Benefits Enrollment System by Monday, Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m.

For benefit eligible faculty and staff, please review the Open Enrollment newsletter (Cost Share or if applicable, Ben Pay for “grandfathered” employees) for important information about the Open Enrollment process and benefit plan changes at www.hrs.colostate.edu/oabOE.html.

Online enrollment required for changes only

We will not be mailing Open Enrollment materials to employees this year – they will only be available online. You must complete the Open Enrollment Process if you are:

  • changing your benefits enrollment options (i.e., plans, coverage levels, beneficiaries)
  • enrolling or continuing participation in a FSA (health or child care) for the upcoming year
  • covering a spouse, domestic partner or dependent children on your insurance plans, even if they are currently covered under the plan. In accordance with new federal requirements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, you MUST provide the social security numbers of your covered spouse or domestic partner and any dependent children.
  • moving from the Select Benefits Plan (Ben Pay) to the CSU Benefits Plan (Cost Share) – [“grandfathered” employees only]. Note: To initiate this change, you must submit the Elect to Move from Ben Pay to Cost Share Form, available at www.hrs.colostate.edu/oabEMBPCS.pdf, to the Benefits Office before you will be able to make your benefit elections under Cost Share via the Online Benefits Enrollment System.
  • changing the vendor receiving your DCP retirement plan contributions for the upcoming calendar year [DCP participants only]
DCP retirement plan (non-benefit eligible faculty/staff)

For non-benefit eligible faculty and staff participating in the DCP retirement plan, please review the enhancements to the University’s DCP retirement plan at www.hrs.colostate.edu/oabRPC.pdf. You must complete the Open Enrollment Process to change the vendor receiving your contributions for the upcoming calendar year.

Changes to 403(b) Plan

We are also making changes to the University’s 403(b) Plan, which is a voluntary tax deferred investment plan available to all employees. Refer to www.hrs.colostate.edu/oabRPC.pdf for information about the changes.

Use Campus Administrative Portal

Open Enrollment benefit elections will be done online through the Human Resources application via the Campus Administrative Portal (CAP), which provides highly secured, password protected access.

Once you choose CSU Employee Self-Service, which is currently used to access your pay advice and other information, there will be a new menu option called "CSU Benefits." Choose this link to verify your current benefit elections and to participate in the CY 2010 Open Enrollment process. Additional information about logging into this secured site from your personal computer is available at www.hrs.colostate.edu/oabOE.html.

Online Benefits Enrollment System

If the link to the Online Benefits Enrollment System is not available on Tuesday morning, please check back later. This system is new. As with any system implementation, we may experience some technical difficulties this initial year and appreciate your patience as we work through unforeseen issues.

If you experience any problems with the system, please contact the HR Help Desk at (970) 491-0946. For benefits questions, please contact the Benefits Office at (970) 491-6737.
