Accepting nominations for Service-Learning Achievement awards

The Office of Service-Learning would like to recognize exceptional students, community partners, and instructors committed to service-learning and university-community engagement.

Students from the CSU Habitat for Humanity chapter work at the Food Bank of Larimer County.This April offers opportunities for individual and group award recognition, as well as exhibition of undergraduate service-learning projects and community-engaged research.

Awards

The Office of Service-Learning is pleased to accept nominations for:

• The Exceptional Achievement in Service-Learning Student Award
• The Exceptional Achievement in Service-Learning Community Partner Award
• The Instructional Innovation in Service-Learning Award

Award recipients will be recognized at the Celebrate Colorado State Awards event on Tuesday, April 26. Please review the award descriptions below and nominate candidates using our brief online form.

Descriptions

Exceptional Achievement in Service Learning Student Award - presented to a student or student group for their remarkable social or environmental contributions achieved through an academic service-learning course, a supervised internship or professional project, or community-engaged research.

Exceptional Achievement in Service-Learning Community Partner Award - presented to a CSU community partner for their commitment to building university-community partnerships that meet community-articulated needs and challenges while supporting the holistic education of the next generation of professionals, leaders, and citizens.

Instructional Innovation in Service-Learning Award – presented to an instructor who clearly enriches course content and addresses community concerns through skillful application of service-learning pedagogy to an academic course.

Nominations are due by March 18, 2011.
