Jim Graham named interim director of Environmental Health Services

Tom Gorell, senior vice president for Administrative Services at Colorado State University, has named Jim Graham interim director of Environmental Health Services following the retirement of Earlie Thomas.

Graham has worked at CSU since 1995 and has served as associate director of environmental health services for the last four years. Graham received his bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology and his master’s degree in health physics from CSU and has been involved with the university since 1985.

Thomas retired in October after more than 40 years with CSU. He had served as director of Environmental Health Services since 1995.

Environmental Health Services aims to promote environmental, occupational health and safety services through education, consultation, monitoring and planning in response to present and future needs of CSU. The director of environmental health services oversees issues including:

  • bio safety
  • food sanitation
  • public health
  • water quality
  • hazardous waste
  • radiation control
