Oval closure Oct. 28

October 28, 2009

The Oval is closed today to pedestrian and vehicle traffic due to safety issues.

Falling tree branches

The university’s Facilities Management, CSU Police Department, and Environmental Health Services have closed the Oval due to branches that may break from the excessive weight of snow.

Some branches have fallen already this morning because of the weight of the snow on leaves and weaker limbs.

Closed to pedestrians and vehicles

All areas of the Oval that are closed, including the inside perimeter of the Oval, are marked with caution tape, and people are discouraged from crossing those barriers.

Some sidewalks on the east side of the Oval also are closed. Oval Drive, sidewalks and the inside of the Oval will remain closed to vehicles and pedestrians until the storm has passed and it is deemed to be safe.
