Wellness and Fitness for Business Professionals at The Ranch

April 24, 2013

College of Business will host author, physician, and competitive bodybuilder Warren Willey on personal wellness through fitness and nutrition.

On April 27, 9 a.m.-noon, Willey will offer his insights and perspectives on physical fitness and wellness for professionals. Willey is the author of the provocative book, “What Does Your Doctor Look Like Naked? Your Guide to Optimum Health.” It examines how he has changed his life and the lives of his patients through patient care centered on preventive intervention.

“If you want health; if you want to lose weight and maintain the weight loss, it’s going to take some effort on your part,” Willey writes in his newest book, “The Z Diet: Lose Weight and Keep It Off.” “Make no mistake, if you’re after the quick solution, you may be able to obtain it, but chances are you will lose it.”

At this seminar, to be held in the First National Bank Building Conference Center at The Ranch, the Larimer County Fairgrounds Complex in Loveland, Willey will discuss nutritional programs, diet strategies, and exercise programs, including:

  • Simple nutritional interventions and lifestyle suggestions for busy professionals, such as understanding dieting, direct and indirect caloric control measures, and how to maintain long-term weight loss and health.
  • Supplements and meal replacement strategies and their role in the life of a working professional, including benefits and risks, knowing how to choose the right supplements, and the dangers of liquid calories.
  • Exercise and movement tips, including ideas that can work at either the gym or the office, and tips on how to keep business travel from interrupting normal exercise routines.

Cost for the seminar is $35 for CSU alumni and employees; $45 for the general public. Contact Felicia Zamora, assistant director of the Center for Professional Development and Business Research, at felicia.zamora@business.colostate.edu for the discount code.
