Colorado State University's School of the Arts performs Shakespeare masterfully (as evidenced by its sold-out productions during the 2009 season)! This summer, a lighting designer from Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas will help create a 'canopy of stars' inside the University Theatre, and CSU's directors, theatre designers, and actors will stage the Bard of Avon's masterpieces as only CSU can!
Colorado State University students perform in the 2009 production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Colorado State University Summer Theatre's Shakespeare at Sunset is back for the summer of 2010 with two of the Bard of Avon’s most enduring plays, Romeo and Juliet, directed by Eric Prince, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by Laura Jones.
All showings are at 7 p.m. nightly University Theatre, University Center for the Arts 1400 Remington Street. Admission is $10/adult, free/youth (ages 2 - 17); ticket packages and specials are available.
Due to Colorado's unpredictable weather, the productions will be staged inside the University Theatre. However, patrons will experience a canopy of stars, created in consultation with the lighting designer from Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
Enjoy a complete University Center for the Arts, or UCA, evening. Prior to performances, patrons are invited to picnic on the beautiful grounds of the UCA and the Annual Trial Flower Gardens; cooler storage will be available. In conjunction with Shakespeare at Sunset, the University Art Museum is offering free guided tours at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights throughout the month of July.
