Ask Cam

Weber computer lab moving to Morgan

April 27, 2009

Question:

"I have heard that the CTSS Computer Lab in Weber is closing at the end of Spring 09 semester. Will the same services and helpful staff be available to students, faculty and staff elsewhere on campus? If so, where?"

Cam’s response:

This is no doubt an issue near and dear to this mascot. You may have guessed that it is very hard to type with hooves, and I depend on the good folks in Computer Training and Support Services to help with my special hoof-friendly keyboard (basically bigger buttons and a special mouse).

For this answer, I went straight to Pat Burns, vice president of information technology and interim dean of libraries. This is what Pat had to say:

“Yes, the current plan is for the services provided by CTSS in Weber to move to Morgan Library effective July 1, 2009. All services in Weber will be available in Morgan, except for the free printing service that is being discontinued due to budget cuts. Printing will continue to be available in college computer labs.”

So there you have it. By the middle of the year, head to Morgan Library instead of the Weber Building for your computing needs.

Sometimes outta line but always on-line,

Cam
