Apply for the Robert Noyce Scholarship

The Robert Noyce Scholarship is a conditional $10,000 scholarship per year for up to two years.

CSU’s Noyce Scholarship program is designed to recruit STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) majors into a career in secondary (grades 6-12) teaching. The scholarship program is open to students who have earned at least 60 credits, are majoring in a STEM field, and would like to pursue a teaching career in science, engineering or mathematics.

There will be an informational meeting from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4 in NESB B301. Project leaders, personnel, and current Noyce scholar recipients will be on hand to answer questions about the application process, benefits, and teaching requirements. Pizza and refreshments will be served.

Application requirements

To apply for the scholarship, applicants:

  • must be enrolled as full-time Colorado State University students.
  • should have a desire to become a middle or high-school teacher in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field.
  • must have completed at least 60 credits and be at least 11/2 - 2 years from student teaching.
  • must have and maintain a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Recipients must agree to teach in a designated high-need school district upon graduation; two years for each year of scholarship.
  • must complete a Noyce Scholarship application form. Scholarship applications are due by 5 p.m. March 1. Award notifications will be announced by the end of April.
  • must obtain two letters of recommendation (at least one must be from a CSU STEM faculty member).
