Auraria crime program targets female victims

With cooperation among the three institutions located at Denver's Auraria Campus, a new program called the Auraria Campus Safety Initiative establishes services for students, faculty, and staff members who are victims of sexual assaults, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.

Concrete details are still being worked out, but the program is being funded with a federal grant of $500,000 over three years.  A key part of the plans include providing increased security and investigative strategies to prevent and prosecute interpersonal crimes.

With more than 43,000 students attending the Univeristy of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and the Community College of Denver, the Auraria campus is the largest in the state.
