CSU's Plourde makes another All-America team

CSU volleyball standout Megan Plourde, who led the nation in blocks, has been named to yet another All-America team.

CSU's Megan Plourde was named a third-team All-American by Volleyball Magazine.Plourde, a junior, was named Friday a third-team All-American by Volleyball Magazine. It is the second such honor for Plourde, who earlier was named, along with teammate Katelyn Steffan, a third-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

National leader

Plourde, a 6-foot-2 middle blocker, led the nation in blocks during the 2011 season, averaging 1.71 per set. The Somerset, Wis., native currently ranks fifth in CSU history with 461 blocks, and is on pace to finish her career in second place with more than 600 blocks.

Leading the way

Plourde helped the Rams win the Mountain West regular-season and tournament titles and secure the program’s 17th consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. CSU finished the season 24-6 after beating Oregon in a first-round tournament game and then losing to host Hawaii.
