CSU women's hockey team heading to East Coast

January 26, 2011

The 14th-ranked Rams are a hit in just their second year of competition.

The CSU women's hockey team, which competes in the American Collegiate Hockey Association, currently is ranked 14th in the nation in only its second year of play.

The Rams, who practice and play at Edora Pool Ice Center in Fort Collins, are coached by Al Brown. They embark on an East Coast road trip this week to play Northeastern (twice), Massachusetts–Amherst (twice), and URI over a four-day period. All three teams are ranked in the top 10 nationally.

CSU is on pace to receive a bid to the national championships in Kalamazoo, Mich., in March. The Rams are actively seeking sponsors to underwrite their bid for a national championship run.
