Walk off the pounds

Colorado State University researchers are seeking volunteers for a study on calories burned during walking. The study will require from 3 to 4.5 hours total. Compensation will be provided for your participation.

Want to lose weight but don't know where to start?

The Physical Activity Laboratory is seeking healthy, overweight (from 30 to 75 pounds overweight), non-smoking volunteers, aged 18-45, for a study on calories burned during walking.

Benefits include:

  • Fitness assessment
  • Tips for effective weight loss
  • Measurements of body composition (percent body fat) and resting and exercise caloric expenditure
  • Data on heart health and bone density

Participants should not be currently taking prescription medications or using any illicit drugs such as cocaine or methamphetamine.

The study will require from 3 to 4.5 hours total, consisting of three half-hour visits to the lab. Compensation will be provided for participation in the study.
