CSUPD participates in nationwide drug take-back day

Dispose of prescription and over-the-counter medications

pillsOn April 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local law enforcement and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public another opportunity to properly dispose of unused, unneeded or expired over-the-counter and prescription medications.   

The service is free and anonymous.

Drop off locations

  • Fort Collins: Colorado State University Police Department, Green Hall, 750 S. Meridian Ave. and Fort Collins Police Services, 2221 S. Timberline Rd
  • Loveland: Loveland Police Department, 810 E. 10th St.
  • Estes Park: Rocky Mountain Pharmacy, 453 East Wonderview Ave.
  • Windsor: 200 N. 11th
  • Wellington: Wellington Fire Station #1, 8130 3rd St.
  • Red Feather: Fire Station at 44 Firehouse Lane

Fort Collins residents also may now safely dispose of unused, unneeded and expired over-the-counter and prescriptions medications any day of the week at Fort Collins Police Services, 2221 S. Timberline Rd., 8 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Not accepted items

Items not accepted include intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes, mercury including thermometers, oxygen containers, chemotherapy/radioactive substances, pressurized canisters and illicit drugs.
