Poster for this year's eventStudent members of Fashion Group International of Denver and Colorado State University's Department of Design and Merchandising present “The Last Runway,” a student fashion show including recycled and non-recycled garments, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in the main ballroom of the Lory Student Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

“The Last Runway: What Will You Wear If There Is Nothing Left?”, is a post-apocalyptic themed runway show featuring student designs, modeled by CSU students.

Theme reflects current events

The president of the FGI student group Sarah Esparza said that the post-apocalyptic theme was chosen this year to reflect the popular Mayan calendar “end of the world” prediction and to inspire designers to create garments reflecting a futuristic, militant/survival-based civilization.

In addition to the runway show, various gift cards donated by local businesses in Fort Collins will be raffled.

Tickets available at door

Tickets at the door are $7 for students with ID, and $10 for adults. The event is open to the public and all ages are welcome. Tickets may be bought at the Lory Student Center main ballroom starting at 6:15 p.m. the day of the show. Cash and checks made out to Fashion Group International CSU will be accepted.

The Department of Design and Merchandising is part of the College of Applied Human Sciences.

Sponsors of the event include Ohana Salon, GG Boutique, Trends Boutique, The Cupboard, Cira, Tokyo Joes, HuHot, Suehiro’s, Beaujo’s Pizza, and Buttercream Cupcakery.
