Weight loss study needs volunteers

March 26, 2013

If you are 18 to 55 years old, overweight, and willing to follow a healthy, lower calorie diet to lose weight, the Kendall Anderson Nutrition Center and Human Perforomance/Clinical Research Lab needs you.

The Kendall Anderson Nutrition Center (Food Science and Human Nutrition) and the Human Performance/Clinical Research Laboratory (Health and Exercise Science) at Colorado State University are seeking volunteers to participate in a weight loss study.

Volunteers should be:

  • Aged 18-55 years
  • Overweight
  • Willing to commit to losing 7% of your body mass
  • Willing to follow a healthy, lower calorie diet

The focus of the study is the role of exercise in preventing weight regain after weight loss.

Benefits of participation include measurement of metabolic rate (how many calories you burn per hour) and body composition (fat mass, lean mass and bone density).

This study has been approved by the CSU Institutional Review Board (Protocol #: 12-3567H).
