Be familar with the Responsible Action Exemption

August 29, 2013

"I don't want to get in trouble, but my friend is really wasted and needs help."

CSU has an amnesty program, so you can feel safe getting the medical help you need for a dangerously intoxicated friend. The Responsible Action Exemption may protect you and your friend from CSU alcohol and drug violations, if you do the right thing.

Receive an exemption

To receive an exemption you must:

  • Get help!
  • Stay on scene and provide your name
  • Call (970) 491-7165 within three business days to request an exemption

Keep in mind this protocol does not exclude you from criminal charges or other violations like damage or abusive conduct, but isn’t your friend’s safety more important?
