Outreach

President Tony Frank leads tour to western and southwestern Colorado July 27-31

July 24, 2009

Colorado State University's summer outreach tour will continue with visits to communities in western and southwestern Colorado July 27-31, and include meetings throughout the week with local groups and alumni in Grand Junction, Montrose, Durango, Pagosa Springs and Center.

The tour will include meetings with CSU Extension staff, members of CSU’s Colorado State Forest Service and the university’s Agricultural Experiment Station network, as well as with alumni, political officials, business and community leaders, students, parents and other interested citizens. CSU President Dr. Tony Frank and others will be on hand to meet directly with constituents.

Reaching out and listening

“It’s important that we spend time visiting Colorado’s communities, reaching out and listening to their concerns and taking note of their priorities,” Frank said. “Colorado State is the land-grant university and our mission is to provide Coloradans access to education, as well as service and outreach they can use. The best way to find out what people need is ask them.”

Alumni and friends events are scheduled in Grand Junction, Montrose, Durango and Pagosa Springs, and will offer the opportunity to hear from university leadership and provide attendees the opportunity for their input on CSU’s impact in each community. There is a small cost to attend most events. Anyone interested in attending can visit the Web at www.alumni.colostate.edu or call (800) 286-2586 for more information and to RSVP.

University leaders from the areas of Extension, Agricultural Sciences, Alumni, Outreach and Strategic Partnerships and others will join Frank for the trip.
