Donald Figurski

Donald Leo Figurski died Oct. 13.

Leo was born October 4, 1925, in Grand Junction. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Florence Figurski, and his brother, Buster. Leo is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 56 years; his children and spouses: Marcia Richards (Steve Nelson), Cheryl, Patricia Hellmer (Dennis), and Mike (Tiphanie); nine grandchildren; and his sisters, LaVeta Lorimor and Mary French.

Leo received his pilot wings and 2nd lieutenant commission in 1945. He received his degree in 1952 and earned his Master's in agriculture in 1959, both from Colorado State University. He worked from the Colorado A&M Extension Service until May 1966 and then the Kansas State University Extension Service until his retirement in 1989. After retiring, Leo and Betty moved to Ft. Collins.
