Danforth Chapel service with gun salute July 23

In honor of one of our nation's veterans, there will be a memorial service held at Danforth Chapel on Thursday, July 23. You may see activity and hear the sounds of a traditional, honorary 21-gun salute.

Gun noise on campus Thursday

Between 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday, July 23, there will be a veteran's memorial service held at Danforth Chapel on campus. Attendance is estimated to be between 20-30 persons. Guests will park in designated parking areas. 

21-gun salute approximately 10:30-10:45 a.m.

There will be a 21-gun salute at approximately 10:30-10:45 a.m. There is no risk of injury associated with the salute. The sound of gunfire will be heard from the Oval during that short time, but there is no need for alarm.

This is strictly a memorial service. No funeral procession will occur. The memorial service is being conducted by Vessey Funeral Services.
