Hong Kong University artists

Surface Design and Fashion: Works by Kinor Jiang and Collaborators is an exhibition of art textiles and fashion produced at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The exhibit may be viewed in the Avenir Museum of Design & Merchandising on Thursday, Aug. 26

There are six different designers in the exhibition, each one having a distinctly unique approach to textile design and to garment shapes. From an artistic perspective this exhibition exemplifies:

  • The inherent beauty of textiles
  • The potential for visual interest through use of three-dimensional volume in draped textiles ultimately culminating in an extravagant display of texture

The resulting sculptural forms are simultaneously graceful, and at the same time are perplexing and evoke a sense of mystery.
