'The summer I learned to paint'

The annual Youth Art Program is an outgrowth of Colorado State's support for arts education. Content from virtually every subject matter can find form through art, and creativity is an important component to problem solving.

Mixed media/painting

This year the Art Department is once again offering the Youth Art Program which will feature a summer course in mixed media/painting.

Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for two weeks (a total of six days) in F113 Visual Arts. Class dates are:

  • Monday, July 11
  • Wednesday, July 13
  • Friday, July 15
  • Monday, July 18
  • Wednesday, July 20
  • Friday, July 22

First through 3rd grade and 4th and up meet at different times

  • First through third grades meet 10 a.m. to noon
  • Fourth grade and up meets 12:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Tuition is $80, including all supplies

Instructor Sawyer-Voss

Judy Sawyer-Voss has been an art teacher for thirty years, teaching in the Poudre School District.

She supervises student teachers in the Department of Art and each summer teaches the Youth Art Program, alternating classes in drawing, sculpture, print making, painting, and mixed mediums.
