Working at CSU

Register for staff development, EAP classes

January 19, 2011

Registration is now open for Spring, 2011, staff development and Employee Assistance Program classes. New classes and new class times are being offered.

New classes

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) opens new EAP workshops for CSU staff on suicide prevention, caregiving, retirement, happiness, and much more. In response to feedback, we are offering several classes from 4 – 8 p.m. in the new series.

We’ve added twelve new titles and five new presenters since November -- and established presenters and classes are returning. New classes include “Surfing in a tsunami: Adapting and thriving with life’s changes” and “Practical strategies for improving critical thinking." The trainings is free to CSU employees.

Overview

We hope you will encourage inclusion of these training opportunities in performance plans, whether your own, and/or people you supervise. Participation in training brings new ideas, strategies, and fresh energy to relationships, the home, and the workplace.

Mid-January classes and beyond

The spring series begins before the students return with “Introduction to meditation” and “Mindful stress management” in mid-January, and “Artful dialogue” returns on Thursday, Jan. 27.

Campus Financial Services has opened their January – March workshops, which include three new classes, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 12.
