Bike theft over winter break

post

Over winter break, it's best to bring your bike inside if you live in the residence halls, or lock your bike by using a U-lock to secure the bike's frame (not the tire) to the rack.

How to deter bike theft

The CSU Police Department would like to remind all bicyclists on campus to be vigilant about bike theft. We recommend everyone lock their bike with a U-lock and always make sure to lock the frame of the bicycle to the rack (not the tire).

Bike thefts, front range campuses

During winter break we do see an increase in bike theft so it is best to bring your bike inside if you live in the resident halls. Please also be aware that CU Boulder has seen a 250% increase in bike theft over the last school year.

See article http://www.dailycamera.com/news/ci_16801155. Luckily, CSU has not seen a bike theft increase beyond the norm.
