MAX factor: Beware of Mason construction Tuedsay, Oct 8

Updated October 4, 2013

Students and employees are encouraged to avoid Pitkin and Lake Streets at Mason Street on the east side of campus on Tuesday, Oct. 8 during MAX construction activity.

Workers will be paving the newest stretch of the MAX guideway along the Mason Street corridor between Pitkin and Lake Streets, beginning at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Pitkin will be open but Lake will be closed, although workers hope to have Lake re-open by midday.

The work was originally scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, but was rescheduled due to weather.

The MAX Bus Rapid Transit system is a city project along Mason Street. The Mason Corridor project consists of the Mason Trail, economic redevelopment in the heart of Fort Collins and MAX bus rapid transit service. MAX will link major destinations and activity centers along the Mason Corridor including downtown, Colorado State University, Foothills Mall, and South College retail areas. MAX will operate nearly twice as fast as auto travel along College Avenue, and provide high frequency service every 10 minutes. Future regional transit connections will link to MAX at the new South Transit Center.
