Working at CSU

New ergonomic equipment matching funds program

August 23, 2010

For those employees whose departments are unable to afford proper ergonomic equipment, the Risk Management Insurance office's Ergonomics Program is now offering an ergonomic equipment matching funds program.

Proper ergonomic equipment establishes enjoyable employment

We understand difficult economic times are upon us. All CSU faculty and staff have been asked to do more with less. As a result, many have had to make-do with less-than-ideal workstations. For those employees whose departments are unable to afford proper ergonomic equipment, we are now offering an ergonomic equipment matching funds program.

Proper ergonomic equipment may:

  • Increase productivity
  • Decrease discomfort or pain

Injury prevention

The Colorado State University Risk Management Insurance office's Ergonomics Program now offers potential funding of up to $500 dollars per employee in matching funds (50% of total equipment cost) to modify existing computer workstations to provide departments a cost-effective method of injury prevention.

Matching funds can be requested by any department or employee. The equipment request must ergonomically improve a workstation or eliminate an identified ergonomic hazard in the office setting, where the department may be unable to obtain the equipment with their current financial situation and the department head/director can demonstrate a need for the equipment as well as justify the request for financial assistance.

Limited matching funds

Funding which is available for the ergonomics matching funds program is limited each fiscal year and when all available funds have been utilized, no further funding will be made available to any department until the subsequent fiscal year.

Requested matching funds cannot be applied to computer workstation furniture for new construction, renovation, and relocation projects. Unusual requests for matching funds will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
