The Japanese Student Association and the Japan Club are collecting donations to help Japan in its time of crisis. Stop by the Plaza, LSC Flea Market, or Sunken Lounge to donate your dollar and to fold a crane.
As I’m sure you have all heard Japan suffered a huge earthquake and tsunami on March 11, followed by winter weather conditions and the nuclear reactor crisis. The Japanese Student Association and Japan Club have organized efforts this week where everyone and anyone can participate.
Below are some options that are happening this week so please encourage your students, staff and others to support the efforts for Japan.
A/PACC is supporting the clubs and beginning the week of March 28, we will be collecting donations for the clubs to send to Japan as a unified effort from CSU.
Below is some information from the student clubs on ways you can help:
All this week, we will be collecting donations at the flea market, on the Plaza, and in the Sunken Lounge in the Lory Student Center. Our goal is $1 per student, or $25,000. Please help us reach our goal.
More info about where exactly the money is going, etc., can be found at the flea market.
Beginning March 28, donations for the club can be dropped off at the Asian/Pacific American Cultural Center in the Lory Student Center.
We will soon have a t-shirt available for purchase for $12. Every single cent of profit will go toward Japan. More details will come later this week.
For those of you without any extra money (although $1 isn't much), we are also folding cranes in the LSC Sunken Lounge all this week. You can write a message on them, and they will be sent to the governments of the hard-hit areas in Japan.
Beginning March 28, A/PACC will be helping folding cranes so stop by to write a message and fold your crane.
Please help the clubs reach their goal and help Japan recover.
