Reducing underage and high risk drinking

GUIDE and Outreach and Prevention Programs hosts an event with the goal of reducing underage and high risk drinking among students through an interactive program. The program will include information for students about legal services, off-campus student services, and activities including "Pour a Drink," field sobriety tests, "Safe 89," and the Iron Mocktender competition.

Iron Mocktender Competition Rules

1. Teams will consist of no more than three members who reside in residence halls. Each team will receive a list of general ingredients one week before the competition. The secret ingredient will be revealed to each team just before the competition begins.

2. Teams will have 15 minutes to prep a “mocktail” (non-alcoholic cocktail). At the end of 15 minutes, the teams must step away from their drink for judging by the panel.

3. The panel will consist of three members from the campus or Fort Collins community. Mocktails will be judged based on four categories: name (10 points), originality (10 points), presentation (10 points), and taste (10 points), for a total of 40 points. The secret ingredient must be incorporated into the drink in order for the drink to be considered for judging.

4. There will be three preliminary rounds, each consisting of three teams; the winning team from each round will advance to the final competition. The winning team from each round will receive a prize, and winning team from the final round will receive a grand prize.
