VTH seeking dogs with a few extra pounds to lose

September 2, 2011

CSU's Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Animal Cancer Center are looking for overweight dogs to participate in a clinical trial investigating the digestibility of new canine diet formulations during weight loss.

Each participant who enrolls will receive physical exams, blood work, and a urinalysis. Participants who complete the study will receive a $50 credit that can be used toward any services or products at the VTH!

Health benefits for your dog from loss of excess body weight may include:

  • improved quality of life
  • increased life span
  • decreased chronic inflammation
  • decreased risk for some cancers, arthritis, diabetes and some respiratory and urinary tract infections.
