The Associated Students of Colorado State University announce Jordan Heberlein as the 2010-2011 Homecoming Pacesetter recipient. Colorado State University's unique version to Homecoming royalty, the Pacesetter Award is given to a student who has outstanding character, exemplifies diversity, balances academics and extracurricular activities, and is proud to be CSU Ram.
Jordan Heberlein, the 2010 Homecoming Pacesetter recipient, does an exceptional job of balancing academics and extracurricular activities.
This year’s recipient is senior Construction Management major Jordan Heberlein. Heberlein is involved in more than seven extracurricular activities, including AGC National Student Commercial Competition, in which she took first place in 2009, all while excelling in her studies.
“It is an honor to be selected to be this year’s Pacesetter,” said Heberlein. “I wouldn’t be considered a Pacesetter if it weren’t for the encouragement and support from my professors, classmates, family and friends.
"Thank you all for challenging me to reach higher and never give up. I am extremely blessed to have the opportunity to go to school, to get an education and couldn’t be luckier to get it at CSU. Being a fourth generation CSU Ram, I have always been proud, and always will be. Go Rams!”
In order to apply for the award, students must be a full-time student, maintain a 3.25 GPA, be at least a junior, and must be nominated by a student organization, peers, resident hall or university department. Heberlein was nominated by Construction Management Department Chair Mostafa Khattab, who called her “a great ambassador to the program.”
“Jordan is a great student with exemplary character and I am very excited she is being recognized for her work,” said ASCSU Vice President Jennifer Babos.
