Distance MBA program extends to the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia

July 6, 2009

Colorado State University's College of Business extended its Distance MBA program to the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan on July 1.

Specialized courses for government officials

The college is offering a custom leadership-based MBA to select government officials of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is an autonomous republic of Russia. The program will combine the College of Business distance-based MBA curriculum with several on-site specialized courses to be delivered in Kazan, the capitol of Tatarstan.

"Colorado State University was selected based on the availability of a high-quality, accredited program that was offered in the distance format," said John Hoxmeier, associate dean of Graduate Programs in the college. "This is an MBA that will really focus on global issues. The Republic of Tatarstan really sees themselves as a global player when it comes to oil and gas."

The program can be completed in 21 months.

Students around the world

The Distance MBA Program in the College of Business at Colorado State University delivers a quality education while providing the flexibility needed to earn a degree. Each on-campus class is taped to DVDs and sent the next morning. The program reaches out to students across the United States and Canada, and around the world, including military personnel serving in remote areas.

In February, BusinessWeek magazine named Colorado State's College of Business as one of the top undergraduate business programs in the country and the top program in the state of Colorado. The magazine also ranked two CSU programs - marketing and business law - in the top 10 among the nation's best business colleges.
