Campaign for Colorado State

Making a dfference: Faculty and staff giving

March 17, 2010

During the month of March, Colorado State is recognizing the outstanding support from our dedicated faculty and staff. In fiscal year 2009, 1,353 faculty, staff, and retirees donated $1.4 million -- retirees alone accounting for almost $690,000 of that total.

Financial dedication appreciated

In spite of the economic downturn, this year’s program has seen a slight increase in the number of gifts from faculty, staff, and retirees. While the increase is greatly appreciated, there is still a tremendous need for the 27,442 students currently enrolled. Many of the students here on campus are relying on the support of our campus community to achieve their dream of becoming a CSU graduate.

“The financial dedication of faculty and staff to Colorado State is deeply encouraging,” says Deb McCune, director of annual giving. “It demonstrates a collective understanding that private support of the University and alumni participation are vital to our existence, especially now. As members of the campus community, our dedication, gifts, and mentoring go beyond a 40-hour work week. We have the opportunity to support our students in the achievement of their dreams, demonstrating why our campus is so wonderful.”

Secure online tool

An added benefit to this year’s program is the roll out of the Donor Gift Tracker, which offers a secure online environment where faculty, staff, and retirees can view their giving history, as well as create and manage payroll deductions.

This year, the Annual Giving team is holding a contest to name the Donor Gift Tracker. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate donated by The Canyon Chop House. Visit the Gift Tracker and then enter your naming suggestions via the online survey. The contest ends Friday, April 2.
