President Frank leads summer Colorado outreach tour

July 9, 2009

Colorado State University's summer outreach tour will kick off with visits to communities in central and northwestern Colorado July 12-16, and include meetings throughout the week with local groups and alumni in Aspen, Steamboat Springs, Glenwood Springs, Rifle, Edwards and Eagle.

Reaching out and listening

The tour will include meetings with CSU Extension staff, members of CSU’s Colorado State Forest Service and the university’s Agricultural Experiment Station network, as well as with alumni, political officials, business and community leaders, students, parents and other interested citizens.

CSU President Dr. Tony Frank and others will be on hand to meet directly with constituents.

“It’s important that we spend time visiting Colorado’s communities, reaching out and listening to their concerns and taking note of their priorities,” Frank said. “Colorado State is the land-grant university and our mission is to provide Coloradans access to education, as well as service and outreach they can use. The best way to find out what people need is ask them.”

Alumni and friends events are free

Alumni and friends events – free and open to the public -- are scheduled in Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Glenwood Springs, and will offer the opportunity to hear from university leadership and provide attendees the opportunity for their input on CSU’s impact in each community.
