Rams heat up Moby in 'Orange Out' against Aztecs

February 14, 2013

Now that was worth a 59-year wait!

The No. 24 CSU men’s basketball team celebrated its first appearance in the Top 25 since 1954 with a pulsating 66-60 win Wednesday night over No. 22 San Diego State before a sold-out, raucous crowd of orange-clad fans at Moby Arena.

Senior guard Dorian Green scored six of his game-high 16 points in the final minute to rally the Rams (20-4, 7-2 Mountain West) past the Aztecs. Jon Octeus's dunk with 10 seconds remaining put an exclamation mark on one of the biggest home victories in CSU history.

CSU extended the nation’s third longest home winning streak to 27 games.

The Rams return to action Saturday, traveling to Air Force for a 2 p.m. game. If the Rams win, and New Mexico loses at home to Boise State later that day, the Rams will be in sole possession of first place in the Mountain West.
