The employees in the Cashier's Office, located in the Lory Student Center, were recently recognized by the Employee Appreciation Board. This small group was treated to a breakfast buffet as well as a raffle for prizes from the CSU Bookstore.
The Cashier's Office, an important part of the Banking Services Office (under Business and Financial Services), processes payments for the University, tuition, and departments.
Petty cash and change funds are handled through the office as well as audits to make sure departments are in compliance.
“The ladies on our staff are friendly, hardworking, and love to help in any way they can,” said Becky Everett, Cashier Supervisor.
This small, but mighty team was recognized through a nomination from Fran Wilson in the CSU Bookstore.
"Kathy, Patty, Becky, and Sherry are 'aces,'” Fran said. “While my wheelchair malfunctioned they helped me get to my desk and the LSC food court. Their caring and their actions made my journey in a manual wheelchair much more hospitable and reduced the number of sick days that I took due to wrist strain.”
The CSU Employee Appreciation Board, originally form in 1968, recognizes employees for their hard work and promotes community spirit among CSU faculty and staff through events such as breakfasts, luncheons, and ice cream socials. In addition, the Board each month hosts a prize drawing for all faculty and staff who submit an entry form – including a coveted reserved parking space for a full month.
The board meets monthly during the academic year to discuss and plan employee recognition events. The main objective of the board is the monthly recognition of a group, entity, or college identified through nominations from fellow employees.
