Pingree Park faculty and staff weekend Sept. 25-28

August 31, 2009

Pingree Park offers two Faculty and Staff Weekends each year to all faculty and staff of Colorado State University (current and retired). This provides a chance to come and experience the beautiful mountain setting of Pingree Park.

Families and guests are welcome to accompany CSU faculty and staff members. A registration form [pdf] for the Sept. 2009 weekend is located on the Pingree Park home page.

West of Fort Collins

Located north of Rocky Mountain National Park at 9,000 feet, the Pingree Park Campus has been the field-session site for Forestry and Natural Resources since 1916. Before the arrival of the University, the Koenig and Ramsey families occupied the Pingree Valley. Thanks to the preservation efforts of CSU, their cabins and other buildings remain intact today.

Conference center, dorms, cabins

In 1975, CSU built a conference center and began hosting retreats and workshops. Pingree provides facilities for conferences and classes in dorms and cabins. In addition to CSU groups, Pingree hosts student groups from CU, UNC, DU, as well as out-of-state universities.

Conferences from the private sector also use the campus throughout the season. In the fall, Pingree hosts the Poudre School District “Eco-Week” environmental science programs.

Diverse wildlife, hiking trails

Diverse wildlife claims the Pingree Valley as their home. Frequent residents include hummingbirds, deer, badger, and moose. Hiking trails leave from campus and climb above tree line to 12,000 foot peaks in Rocky Mountain National Park that comprise the southern skyline at Pingree Park.
