Labor day weekend backpacking trip

A 3-day Labor Day Weekend Backpacking course will travel into the high alpine mountain near Cameron Pass to learn skills such low-impact camping (Leave No Trace), wilderness navigation, and outdoor cooking.

Come explore the beauty of Colorado's high alpine country while gaining confidence with basic outdoor living skills in the company of fellow students. Our 3-day Labor Day Weekend Backpacking course will travel into the high alpine mountain near Cameron Pass to learn skills such low-impact camping (Leave No Trace), wilderness navigation, and outdoor cooking.

  • Labor Day Weekend -  Saturday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 6
  • $49 for Students and Rec Center members
  • $59 for Non-Students/members

Fee includes:

  • Transportation by CSU vanpool
  • Permits for trips
  • Leaders -- experienced/trained
  • Meals and snacks for all three days
  • Group gear such as tents, stoves, etc.

Low cost gear rental is available for those needing a backpack or sleeping bag.
