Open tryouts set for new women's soccer team

CSU will begin playing women's soccer on the Division I level next fall. Coach Bill Hempen is seeking experienced soccer players to help fill out his first team.

Coach Bill HempenThe new program will hold open tryouts for prospective players at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Indoor Practice Facility.

To participate, players must be full-time students (at least 12 credit hours) enrolled at CSU. Prior to the tryout, a mandatory informational meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Coors Family Auditorium in the McGraw Athletic Center.

Must have current physical

Prospective players should bring a current physical exam and sickle cell testing results to the Tuesday meeting. The physical must have taken place after Oct. 28, 2012. Participants who haven’t had a sickle cell test can get one Wednesday at Hartshorn Health Center.
