Roger Gilmore, Former Associate Professor, Passed Away Feb. 11

Roger Hubert Gilmore, of Fort Collins, passed away on Feb. 11. He was an associate professor at Colorado State University for 29 years.

Roger Hubert Gilmore, of Fort Collins, passed away on Feb. 11. Roger was born on January 8, 1931, in Fremont, Nebraska to Hubert and Amy Gilmore. Roger married Veda Cuellar on August 4, 1956 in McCook, Nebraska.

Roger graduated from Fremont High School and completed his undergraduate work at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. He earned his Master's Degree from the University of Iowa. He went on to attend the University of Nebraska where he earned his Ph.D. He was an associate professor at Colorado State University for 29 years and educator for 46 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Collins.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Veda Gilmore; and one brother, Donald.

He is survived by his sons, Gregory and his wife, Kelly Burton -Gilmore, of Las Vegas, and Christopher and his wife, Shelly, of Mason, Ohio; his sisters, Lois Kirkman and her husband, Paul, of Lubbock, Texas; and Wenona Gilmore of Lincoln, Nebraska; and grandchildren, Madison and Tanner Gilmore.

A visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17th at the Allnutt Drake Chapel, followed by a rosary at 6 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Collins. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
