Richard Gutkowski and other faculty and staff will celebrate their service longevity to CSU at the annual Celebrate CSU Milestones event, Friday, May 8, in the Lory Student Center Main Ballroom, as a part of Celebrate Colorado State.
“The rivalry between CSU and Wyoming and the rivalry between CSU and CU in athletics are a tie [for my favorite CSU tradition]. They are, for me, a fun and friendly pair of rivalries, not raucous. But, in recent years, I am even more a fervent fan of the CSU Women's Volleyball team.”
One of Gutkowski’s most memorable moments at CSU was being the co-organizer of an NATO sponsored Advanced Research Workshop held in Poland in 1994 on "Regional Challenges to Improve a Deteriorated Transportation Infrastructure Within Poland and its Neighboring Countries.” He explained, “Poland is the country of my heritage. The event was the first ever NATO workshop in Poland. Organizing the event began shortly after the Berlin Wall fell in East Germany; then Poland shortly later freed itself of communist imposed rule.”
Celebrate Colorado State is a series of events every spring that highlight the outstanding achievements of the campus community. Join us Tuesday, April 28 at 2:30 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Main Ballroom for the Celebrate Colorado State Awards to recognize distinguished colleagues and hear the first-time announcement of top University awards.
